Our macadamia nursery is operating in Thyolo in Southern Malawi. We have been successfully supplying established and new growers in northern, central and southern Malawi.
Our mission is to present our farmers in Malawi with the best value and quality grafted macadamia seedlings in the country. Malawi is well respected for producing quality kernel on the world market.
We fully support existing and especially new farmers to succeed in growing macadamias.

SEEDLINGS
Chisapi is located in Thunga in the heart of Malawi’s macadamia production region on the renown Thyolo ridge. Our selected source of cultivar material comes from a proven production base of well established plantations that have been in successful production supplying world markets for over three decades. These selected cultivars are grafted onto vigorous Beaumont 695 seedlings known as root stock. The grafted seedlings are supplied with a minimum height of 50cm in 4lt plastic sleeves using a well-drained compost mixture to encourage good root development. We have a unique system of colour coding all the different cultivars for our growers to easily identify their seedlings.
AGRONOMY
Chisapi values all interested growers whether just beginning or well-established commercial growers. The choice of spacing and cultivars is always difficult. It depends on the customers preferences, climatic region, including altitude and soil condition. Irrigation can be expensive although preferable to achieve good results and ensure a good return on investment.
As farmers, we can also assist with guiding our customers on:
- Improving the organic matter in their soils and land prep.
- Advising on a combination of cultivars as a range of pollinators will help farmers obtain a consistent high yield, nut size, wholes and quality every season.
- Bee colony establishment.
- Trap crops and natural predator development for insect control.
- Wind breaks to reduce damage to trees and preserve flowers at pollination.
EXPORT
We have been privileged to export our grafted seedlings. Any enquiries from the sub region are welcome. We are familiar with all the necessary export documents and have good options on transport facilities.
For our regional customers we have had full support from our local Bvumbwe Reseach Station to register our quality seedlings for export.
